The port of Montevideo is a natural bay which offers ideal infrastructure at the entrance of the River Plate and is the closest port to the Atlantic Ocean.
It has seven berths with a depth of 10 meters, two at 13 meters, and the container terminal (Terminal Cuenca del Plata) with two berths at 13 meters depth. In addition, UPM has a dedicated berth for cellulose pulp loading, and finally two berths for loading bulk grain shipments (Terminal Granelera de Montevideo).
